A collection of 100 color plates, each illustrating a single cavalry trooper from an Assyrian Horse Archer of 650BC to a Russian Cavalryman of 1914AD. Each plate has a single page description and there is an introduction that ties everything together. There are several plates and brief descriptions of kalkans. I use it more as an overview of the variety of cavalry over the ages.
